Earlier today, BSB confirmed its new title sponsor partnership with Bennetts and with the final addition Dean Harrison and his Silicone Engineering Racing Kawasaki squad the permanent riders on the 2018 grid is confirmed at 28 entries.
Reigning BSB champion Shane Byrne will look to fight off tough competition from familiar faces Leon Haslam (JG Speedfit Kawasaki) and Josh Brookes (McAMS Yamaha) plus a number of exciting youngsters and rookies including Tarran Mackenzie (McAMS Yamaha), Gino Rea (OMG Racing Suzuki) and Kyle Ryde (CF Motorsport Yamaha).
BSB series director Stuart Higgs is relishing the new season with title sponsor Bennetts and has hinted a handful of wildcard entries throughout the season to intensify the 2018 grid competition.
“Today marks a very exciting day for Bennetts BSB,” Higgs said. “As the season rapidly approaches it is hugely exciting to reveal the new look for 2018 and beyond in association with our new title partner Bennetts but also release the official entry list of 28 permanent riders. We are also expecting a number of wildcard entries at selected rounds to boost the grid further.
“We arrive at the opening round of the season this year off the back of one of the most memorable and fiercely-fought championships in recent times. The strength and depth of this year’s entry together with the highest-ever class newcomer intake will make for an incredible mix. The start of the season can’t come soon enough.”
The 2018 season gets underway an at official test day at Donington Park on March 20 before the circuit hosts the season opener March 31 - April 2.
