Powerslide Catfoss Racing confirm partnership with Hawk Racing for 2022 season
Powerslide Catfoss Racing have confirmed their return to BSB for 2022 after agreeing to partner Hawk Racing, the team behind Buildbase Suzuki.
The Stoke-on-Trent based team made their official British Superbike debut this past season with South African Bjorn Estment as their rider.
Estment scored points on five occasions before finishing 24th in the championship standings - eight places off his best championship finish which came in 2020.
The partnership will see Powerslide Motorcycles work closely with Hawk Racing, who will assist with their development programme.
Team Owner, Brad Clarke, said: "I really just want to thank Steve and the team at Hawk Racing for this collaboration. Last season’s work would not have been achieved if it wasn’t for linking up with them - working with the official factory team, who are proven race winners is a huge boost for us.
"After a successful debut season, where we over-achieved all our original targets we decided to extend our relationship with Hawk Racing, who were massively involved with our development last year.
"We are looking at how we can continue to improve in our second season, and working with Hawk Racing and their extensive knowledge of the Suzuki in Bennetts BSB can only be a positive.
"We also have James Ellison as a new team manager, and as an experienced rider in the series for several years, his input will also be another step forward. We look forward to announcing the rest of our plans in the coming weeks."
The team are yet to confirm whether Estment will return for the 2022 season, or whether another rider will be signed.
Steven Hicken, Hawk Racing Team Manager also said: "Joining the BSB grid from scratch takes determination and commitment - Brad and everyone at Powerslide Racing did a great job during the 2021 season to overcome all the hurdles that racing throws at you.
"With a year’s experience and big upgrades to the Superbike specification, I’m sure they can enjoy a successful 2022 season.
"It’s great to have another Suzuki on the grid with us and we hope to be able to announce another supported team within the next few weeks."
