Haslam takes first win of 2007.

The delighted Ducati rider came over the line just 0.158secs clear of Shane Byrne on the Stobart Honda. Third place went to Haslam's team-mate Gregorio Lavilla who had to start from the third row of the grid and work his way through the pack.

Haslam wasted no time in getting into the lead and immediately started to gap pole sitter Jonathan Rea on the HM Plant Honda. Ryuichi Kiyonari was on his team-mate's tail in third place with Byrne in fourth. By the end of lap two Lavilla was already up to seventh place and continued to work his way forward.

He broke the lap record on lap four with a time of 1min 39.719secs. Byrne put a move on Kiyo on lap seven as the Japanese rider appeared to be struggling with his tyres. Rea then set the fastest lap with a superb time of 1min 39.455secs and was starting to close back up on Haslam.

Tommy Bridewell parted company with his NB Suzuki at Lola corner with a massive high side giving him huge air time. He has been taken to the medical centre for a check up. As the lap record continued to tumble it was Byrne who claimed it next on lap nine with a 1min 39.259secs lap as he continued to reel in Rea and one lap later he had him and took up second place.

With the lead now in sight Byrne knuckled down and started chasing Haslam, in one lap he was on the back of him. Meanwhile Lavilla was now up to fourth place and he quickly dispensed with Rea to secure the final podium position.

Byrne looked set to pull as last lap move on Haslam but he just couldn't get the break on the Ducati and had to settle for a very close fought second place.
