Scott Redding has completed the perfect opening round of his Bennetts British Superbike Championship Showdown by taking a double victory at Assen to pull out a 14-point lead in the standings.
The Be Wiser Ducati rider topped every practice session plus pole position in qualifying at the Dutch track and duly followed that up with a pair of dominant wins. Having reclaimed the BSB championship lead with victory in the opener, Redding leaves Assen with a 14-point advantage thanks to his double win.
Tommy Bridewell saw off fellow BSB Showdown contenders Danny Buchan and Josh Brookes to claim second place for Oxford Racing Ducati to bounce back from his fall in the opening race.

Behind the title-fighting front four, Luke Stapleford capped his best BSB weekend to date with fifth place on the Buildbase Suzuki ahead of Xavi Fores who leads the hunt for the BSB Riders’ Cup on the Honda thanks to his sixth place.
Jason O’Halloran was unable to follow up his Race 1 rostrum as he faded to seventh place but kept ahead of BSB Showdown contender Peter Hickman in eighth place for Smiths Racing BMW.
Final BSB Showdown member Tarran Mackenzie endured a tough Race 2 at Assen down in 13th place for McAMS Yamaha.
