Race 1

O’Halloran claimed the first British Superbike win of 2021 after a battle with Ducati riders Christian Iddon who took second, and Tommy Bridewell - third.

O’Halloran was involved in a five rider battle early on, before the top three of himself, Iddon and pole sitter Bridewell separated themselves at the front.

Iddon got the best start from the front row as he took the lead from Bridewell going into turn one. Both McAMS Yamahas also got ahead of Bridewell - relegating him to fourth.

The race-winning overtake from O’Halloran came with four to go, after Iddon had led the opening ten laps.

Peter Hickman took fourth place on his competitive debut for the FHO Racing BMW team, while Tarran Mackenzie was fifth.

Danny Kent crashed at the final corner just before mid-race distance while running inside the top ten. Bradley Ray was also among the race one retirees as a mechanical issue put pay to his efforts.
