Vauxhall Motorsport Manager, Mike Nicholson welcomed Egg, the UK's leading online financial services provider, to the BTCC.
"We are delighted a non-automotive sponsor such as Egg has seen the benefits of being involved in the British Touring Car Championship and that they have chosen a Vauxhall team. This brings the total number of Astra Coupes on the touring car grid to four. We look forward to working with them off the track and, as we have our own works team, against them on the track!"
Team Egg:Sport will be run by Triple Eight Race Engineering with Ian Harrison heading the outfit as Team Manager.
Both Vauxhall Astra Coupe teams will be in action at next week's championship launch and TOCA test day on Wednesday, March 28 at Brands Hatch circuit. This will be the first time the cars and drivers come face-to-face with championship rivals, Peugeot, Lexus and Alfa Romeo.
