After an instruction from the BTCC Clerk of the Course, in accordance with the championship engine usage regulations, Barwell Motorsport/Team Kaliber Sport and Simon Graves have lost five points off their scores in the BTCC Production Teams and Drivers Championships respectively.
Under championship regulations, a driver is only allowed five new engines/engine rebuilds in a season. Due to early season reliability problems, the engine used in Simon's car by our star Guest Driver, Tiff Needell, when he took over at Oulton Park, was the fifth of the year. During Oulton's Sprint Race, Needell unfortunately missed a gear and damaged this engine, and his engine change has now been counted as Graves' sixth.
Despite the fact that the only reason this has happened is due to us bringing Tiff Needell in, for a one-off outing as a non-points-scoring 'Guest Driver', it has unfortunately led to both Simon Graves and the team being penalised.
