Graves to contest season-closer at Brands.

Three-time BTCC winner, Simon Graves, will continue with Team Kaliber with Barwell Motorsport at Brands Hatch's season-closer next weekend.

Belgian Touring Car star, Philippe Tollenaire, was scheduled to drive one of the team's Production Class Honda Accords, but an injury sustained in a motorcycle accident has forced him to withdraw.

Graves dominated the recent Sprint race at Donington, and his weight ballast-free car will once again be a major force to contend with in the Production category.

Graves dominated the recent Sprint race at Donington, and his weight ballast-free car will once again be a major force to contend with in the Production category.

"Recently there has been a lot of ridiculous accusation, paddock gossip and paranoia about race tactics, but now people should start to realise that Simon's objective has only ever been to lead and win races for the team; the last few rounds have certainly proved that." says team principal, Mark Lemmer. "It is a great shame that Philippe will be unable to show his speed at Brands, but it's very handy that we can put another proven race-winner back in the car."

Meanwhile Graves' team-mate, James Kaye, is still very much in with a strong shout of the Production Class championship title, as part of the three-way fight at the top of the table.

"With the massive power advantage that the Peugeot 306s have enjoyed from the start of the season, we thought they could have wrapped up the title by mid-season," comments Lemmer. "But our team has performed brilliantly, and with James driving better than ever, we are very proud to have taken the fight to the last round."
