Plato goes fast, Pickford gets on side.
It was a case of the lighter SEAT Toledo in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship being quick at the hands of Jason Plato in the second free practice session at Knockhill, but for team-mate James Pickford it seems the car might have been a little too light...

The Scottish racing track is famed for its challenging nature and its a photographer favourite as the cars are often seen on two wheels at the 1.3 mile track high up a hill in Fife.
SEAT's Pickford took the two wheel antics too far however and ended up with his Toledo on its side and plenty of work for the mechanics to do after an accident out on track.
There had earlier been a red flag in the session due to an off for Fiona Leggate, and shortly after the session was restarted from that, Plato had put in his fast lap to displace Rob Collard from the top of the monitors.
The WSR MG driver would be unable to offer a retort, as his pit crew were already hard at work fixing his power steering, a pipe having broken and dispersed its hydraulic fluid.
Third fastest in the session was Team Halfords' Dan Eaves, the third-placed championship contender having a car properly working this time. Fourth fastest was Tom Chilton, the exuberant young driver relishing the Knockhill challenge.
Such was the extent of the accident suffered by Pickford, it's unlikely that the Toledo will make it to qualifying.
