Rockingham drops off 2019 BTCC calendar
Rockingham has been omitted from the 2019 British Touring Car Championship race calendar due to its impending sale with Thruxton handed a second round to see the 10-round campaign remain.
The Northamptonshire circuit, which has been up for sale since 2016, is currently working with two consortiums interested in buying the facility. But with negotiations ongoing, BTCC organisers TOCA have opted to drop the circuit from its 2019 calendar due to the ‘impending sale of the facility didn’t provide sufficient clarity at the time of finalising the calendar’.

Thruxton will cover the missing round to see BTCC make two trips to the Hampshire circuit. The only other alteration is the Croft round which has been moved ahead of the Oulton Park round in June.
Brands Hatch Indy retains its familiar curtain-raiser position followed by round two at Donington Park before the first round at Thruxton in mid-May. The second round at Thruxton has been scheduled in for mid-August before the Knockhill round with Silverstone hosting the penultimate event before the return to the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit for the 2019 finale.
