08 calendar revealed, Le Mans returns.

This year's title race may not have been resolved just yet, but the DTM is already making plans for 2008 after revealing their calendar for next season with only a few minor changes to it

The big news is that the traditional ten-round series will be increased to eleven next year with all of this season's races returning and being joined by a round at Le Mans.

The famous circuit, albeit a shorter configuration of it, became the first DTM round to be hosted in France in 2006 but was not included on the 2007 calendar when it was replaced by Mugello

Nonetheless, having attracted a healthy 35,000 strong crowd on that occasion, it has been squeezed onto next year's calendar alongside six rounds in Germany - two at Hockenheim with one at the Oschersleben, Nurburgring, Lausitzring and Norisring -, Mugello in Italy, Zandvoort in the Netherlands, Barcelona in Spain and Brands Hatch in Great Britain.

For the moment the dates remain provisional with Hockenheim maintaining its traditional slot as season opener and finale, while the other notable change is Brands Hatch has been moved from its slot in early June to late August.

"With eleven rounds held in six countries, DTM now is represented on all European core markets of the car manufacturers and features the arguably most attractive calendar of all times," said Hans Werner Aufrecht, Chairman of DTM's rights holder and promoter, ITR e.V.. "Following DTM's very successful Le Mans debut in 2006, that attracted a crowd of 35,000 spectators, we look forward to returning to Le Mans, in 2008."
