2024 F1 Italian Grand Prix - Friday Practice - As it happened

A 1m21.676s for the Red Bull driver puts him 0.2s ahead of Leclerc. 

Leclerc on top currently ahead of Norris, Sainz, Bottas and Piastri.

A 1m21.904s puts Leclerc top of the order, 0.013s ahead of Norris. Bottas is now 0.223s off in third.

Leclerc moves to within a tenth of Bottas' top time to slot into second overall in the Ferrari.

Bottas, Hamilton, Albon, Norris, Sainz, Gasly, Zhou, Perez, Colapinto and Verstappen.

Another strong lap from Bottas to go clear of Hamilton. After an abysmal Dutch Grand Prix, that will be a welcome boost with Mattia Binotto in attendance. 

It's now a 1m22.416s for Bottas, who sets the pace for Sauber. He's 0.2s ahead of Albon; 0.4s ahead of Norris.

Verstappen heads straight back out and pops in the fastest lap so far. Verstappen sets a 1m23.088s to go 0.3s ahead of Hamilton.

Hamilton, Norris, Bottas, Antonelli, Albon, Gasly, Tsunoda, Verstappen, Sainz and Ricciardo.

"Kimi, all good, Kimi, all good," Wolff tells Antonelli over team radio.

Antonelli has crashed at Parabolica. Red flag is out there. 

Verstappen has been through the run-off at Turn 1 a couple of times already. A tricky start for the reigning world champion.

Hamilton leads the times currently though, less than a tenth clear of Norris.

A 1m23.955s for the Italian on the soft tyres. He's 0.4s ahead of Norris in this early phase of practice.

All of the attention will be on Kimi Antonelli at Mercedes in FP1. Another driver change - for the rest of the season though - at Williams - with Franco Colapinto replacing Logan Sargeant.

An announcement could be as early as this weekend. FP1 will give him his first taste of an official F1 weekend, driving the W15.
