Schumacher, Vettel RoC defence on home soil.
Should they decide to return, Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel would be defending their Race of Champions' Nations Cup title on home soil, after organisers decided on another German venue for the globe-trotting event.
The two F1 aces claimed the team's crown in Dusseldorf last November, and will get another chance to entertain their loyal partisan fans after it was confirmed that the 2011 edition would take place in Frankfurt's Commerzbank-Arena on 3-4 December.
"We have again had offers to host Race of Champions 2011 from top class venues from all over the world," organiser Fredrik Johnsson, who created the event in 1988 alongside Mich?le Mouton, admitted, "But, with such German superstars as Sebastian and Michael in the line-up, we're more than happy to be returning to their home ground. The German fans gave Race of Champions a great reception last year and now we're looking forward to hearing even more noise and enthusiasm in Frankfurt in December."
As usual, the 2011 event will take place on a specially-constructed tarmac track, with two parallel lanes, at the 50,000-capacity stadium, and Vettel will be keen to take another F1 title 'home' with him.
"After winning the world championship, there were a lot of emotions and pictures in my head that I will never forget," the Red Bull driver recalled, "One was racing at the Race of Champions in front of my home crowd and winning the Nations Cup with Michael for Team Germany. I enjoyed it a lot - up to the point where I got beaten in the semi-final of the individual event!
"Every year I get a little further. First, I made it to the round of 16, then the quarter-final, then the semi-final. So hopefully this year I will make it into the final and win it. That's the big target for Frankfurt in December. We all have a lot of fun every time we go but, the moment we put our helmets on, we take it very seriously and we go hard."
Portugal's Filipe Albuquerque surprised the stars - and silenced the crowd - in the individual RoC event, defeating Vettel in the semi-final and WRC ace Sebastien Loeb in a tense Grand Final, and will get to display his talents in Germany this season after landing a DTM seat.
