Hungary extends F1 contract
Bernie Ecclestone formalises five-year extension to Hungarian Grand Prix deal.
The Hungarian Grand Prix will remain a staple of the F1 schedule for at least another nine years, after Bernie Ecclestone formalised negotiations on an extension ahead of the 2013 race.
The new deal will keep a race at the Hungaroring through to the 2021 season, and was signed off by both Ecclestone and Hungary's minister of national development, Zsuzsanna Nemeth, ahead of Sunday's grand prix.
"It is an extension of what we had, [through] until 2021," Ecclestone told Sky Sports F1, "The whole atmosphere is good here, it is old style, and we are going to see the same in Austria."
