Red Bull could be excluded from qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after the FIA technical delegate found a discrepancy with its front wing.

Technical delegate Jo Bauer issued the following report after checking both Red Bull cars following qualifying, where Daniel Ricciardo qualified fifth and Sebastian Vettel sixth:

"When checking the front wing of car numbers 01 [Vettel] and 03 [Ricciardo] it was found that the front wing flaps were designed to flex under aerodynamic load. In my opinion this is not in compliance with Article 3.15 of the Formula One Technical Regulations. Therefore I am referring this matter to the stewards for their consideration."

The FIA then called a Red Bull representative to report to the stewards at 20:00 local time (16:00 GMT) in relation to the report.
