Coulthard enjoys WRC ride in Monaco
Former F1 star David Coulthard was treated to a ride in Elfyn Evan's Ford Fiesta RS World Rally Car on the streets of Monaco ahead of this season's WRC opening round.
The ex-Williams, McLaren and Red Bull driver was astounded at how quickly Evans could take the Monaco roads despite having raced around the same streets during his career.
"I went into the car with the belief that rally drivers are the best in the world," Coulthard said. "I've been driven around a forest stage before, but to do it on Tarmac around corners I know was just incredible."
"Elfyn [Evans] was super smooth and committed - contending with constant changes of grip from dry to wet Tarmac - and he did it with much more speed than I thought possible. He's a great young talent and I wish him a great start to the championship."
Coulthard, who has two Monaco Grand Prix victories to his name, was joined by MotoGP rookie Eugene Laverty and Welsh songstress Elin Fflur who all got a go in the co-driver's seat of Evan's rally car.
