Rothmans joined Williams as title sponsors at the start of the 1994
season and have completed a very successful four years with the British
based team. Last year Damon Hill won the World Drivers' Championship
which was followed by Villeneuve's success on Sunday. The team also
clinched the World Constructors' Championship in 1994, 1996 and this
season which was a record breaking ninth time for the Williams team.
Frank Williams, Managing Director of Williams said:
"This is wonderful news for the Williams team, coming so soon after our
success in Jerez this weekend"
The new team's branding will be revealed early next season but red will
replace blue as the theme colour. Both Rothmans and Winfield are part of
the Rothmans International group.
