First Tyrrell Test.
Tora Takagi today Thursday (29/1/98) tested the new Tyrrell 026 Cosworth powered F1 car for the first time at Silverstone, he aquitted himself well and stated that he was very happy with his first impressions of the car despite the damp and cold conditions at Silverstone.
The car which was tested was Chassis 026/1 the first one to be produced, it ran with the now infamous Tyrrell X-Wings in place as these add a dditional downforce to the car in damp conditions such as those experienced at Silverstone and also at low downforce circuits during the season.
