Forsythe Enters Bar
Jerry Forsythe, the eponymous owner of the Forsythe Champcar team, has joined the nascent British American Racing team as director and limited partner.
Forsythe was instrumental in the success of 1997 F1 champion Jacques Villeneuve's Indycar title in 1996, when the Canadian ran with the Forsythe-Green outfit, and the pair will now be reunited at BAR. Then as now, Forsythe's team is sponsored by Player's - a British American Tobacco cigarette brand.

(Jerry Forsythe joining us makes the British American Racing board that much stronger,) claimed team owner Craig Pollock. (His expertise as an entrepreneur and team leader in the world of open-wheel racing is a valuable addition to our board. An added bonus is the fact that both the Reynard Group and I have shared much success with Jerry in North America in CART racing with the Player's Racing Team, and we are very comfortable working together.)
