Mcrae To Test Stewart F1 Car.
Rally star Colin McRae has been offered the chance to test a Stewart F1 car, thanks to his links with engine supplier Ford.
The Blue Oval, which McRae represents in the World Rally Championship, has invited the Scot to have a run in the new SF-3 chassis which impressed in Melbourne, and could conceivably consider him for a full-time role with the team.
"We'll give him a test later this year," said Ford Motorsport's European boss, Martin Whitaker, "and, if he's quick enough, let's wait and see."

"The test is not for fun," Whitaker continued, "Colin is on a par with Michael Schumacher - they both have the same mystique, and they are both good in all conditions."
The Scot - who swapped seats with Martin Brundle to test a Jordan some years ago - is not overawed at the prospect of taming the current breed of F1 car - or racing in the sport's highest category.
"To drive in Formula One is something I have been thinking about for quite a while," he admitted, "If I do the test and I am competitive, then I must consider what I am getting into, but I am committed and there is no reason why I couldn't drive in Formula One."
