Villeneuve Is New Face Of Vw.

Jacques Villeneuve has appeared in a commercial for car company Volkswagen - and pokes fun at those with whom he has tangled in F1.


The Canadian, who endorses the German marque in an advertisement to air in his homeland, is heard to make wry comments about the new VW Golf which also relate to his brief history in grands prix. Although not all naturally translate into English - the use of male and female genders when talking about nationalities meaning that references to Villeneuve's love of German things and/or people lose some of their impact - the commercial is proving popular among his countrymen.


"The new Golf? I love it because its not a quitter," Villeneuve says in the ad, "It isn't for everyone. You have to appreciate driving. Some people may even find it a little too rebellious - but that's their problem."
