Williams star Alex Zanardi is hoping for a swift change of fortune before the San Marino Grand Prix, after another dismal weekend in Brazil.


The double Champcar titleist has suffered with poor luck since he returned to Formula One over the winter. Pre-season testing was spent re-adapting to the modern form of grand prix car, while Zanardi found his running in the latest FW21 punctuated by off-track excursions and niggling problems. The first grand prix of his return was blighted by a lack of track-time in practice, before the Italian spun out of the race in Melbourne, and it was almost a repeat performance in Brazil, where his car suffered a broken differential.


"The bad luck has to end soon," pleaded Zanardi, "because I want to start my season - I can't say it has really started yet."
