Now Zanardi Looks To Indy Return.
Alex Zanardi is rumoured to be returning to Champcars, but only to compete in the end-of-season money race.
Champcar organisers will take the competitive series to Honolulu in November for a one-off event which promises ?3million to the winner, and Zanardi has expressed his desire to compete. Current provisions allow for the top 12 finishers in this year's Champcar series - plus four wild card entries - to take to the grid.

Although Zanardi would require team boss Frank Williams' approval to return to the States for the race, he has already admitted to having been approached by race officials. The Italian, along with fellow invitee Jacques Villeneuve, are natural candidates for the wild car slots as past champions of the American series.
The Italian, who is struggling to re-acclimatise to Formula One, hopes that Williams will allow him to race - and that former employer Chip Ganassi will agree to run him.
"It's up to Frank in the end," Zanardi admitted, "but perhaps he will let me race if I promise him some of the money I could win. If I can do the race then Ganassi would have priority although, by then, they might be so in love with [replacement Juan Pablo] Montoya that they will not want me."
