Frentzen In New French Doubt.

Heinz-Harald Frentzen may miss the French Grand Prix after all, despite having initially been given the all-clear to race.


The German crashed out of the Canadian Grand Prix in dramatic fashion after a brake disc on his Jordan shattered with just laps remaining. He was slow to get out of the car, but was later revealed to have just heavy bruising. Further tests, however, suggest that his injuries may be more widespread.

The German crashed out of the Canadian Grand Prix in dramatic fashion after a brake disc on his Jordan shattered with just laps remaining. He was slow to get out of the car, but was later revealed to have just heavy bruising. Further tests, however, suggest that his injuries may be more widespread.


"He almost lost consciousness after the accident, and we wanted to check that everything was alright," explained the event's chief medical officer Jacques Bouchard. "We found that he had a little bit of bleeding in his skull, and want to do a more detailed MRID scan to check that it is not continuing. when we get the results we know how long he has to be out of the car."


Bouchard went on to explain that the sudden deceleration involved in the car hitting the tyres was probably to blame for the bleeding, with a secondary impact between Frentzen's head and the cockpit surround exacerbating matters.
