Jos Was Jordan's Choice.
Jos Verstappen's manager has confirmed that the Dutch star was in line to replace Damon Hill at Jordan before Hill decided to see out the season.
Huub Rothengatter told a Dutch grand prix magazine that his charge was all set to drive at the British Grand Prix before Hill performed his first U-turn, and would have taken over from the 1996 world champion had he decided to quit after Silverstone. Despite this, however, neither Rothengatter or Verstappen was certain whether the drive would definitely become available.

"The only thing I know is that Eddie Jordan had said to me that Jos would drive if Hill stopped," said Rothengatter, "but, of course, we hadn't signed anything."
