Could Prost Opt For Petronas?
A surprise engine option could be on the horizon for Alain Prost, should current supplier Peugeot confirm its withdrawal form Formula One.
Although the eponymous team boss is reportedly lining up a supply of Supertec engines for next season, it has emerged that he could land a plum deal with Ferrari instead. Although the Italian supply would not involve latest spec' units, Prost could receive engines on a par with Sauber's Petronas-badged powerplants.

Although the Italian supply would not involve latest spec' units, Prost could receive engines on a par with Sauber's Petronas-badged powerplants.
The Swiss team recently agreed an extended deal with the Scuderia, and it is believed that Ferrari has both the capacity and the desire to supply a second customer team in the future. Ironically, the Ferrari engine - which is more powerful than both Peugeot and Supertec's finest - costs less than either French unit, at ?11.5million per season.
Peugeot is rumoured to be developing an all-new F1 engine for next year - the A20 - but is thought to be considering dumping the grand prix project to concentrate on its 206 WRC rally programme.
