Sulaiman Al Kehaimi was, amongst other things, accused of attempting to defraud the Tyrrell team by posing as a possible investor, and falsely gaining access to a French mansion in order to host a Monaco Grand Prix party.
The jury at Oxford Crown Court found in favour of Al Kehaimi on five counts, despite hearing accusations that he had attempted to live a lavish lifestyle when, in fact, he was virtually penniless. The judge also ordered that he be acquitted of a sixth charge, after Al Kehaimi told the court that he had fully intended to repay monies invested in his business ventures and had not intentionally defrauded anyone involved.
A four-month sentence passed down after Al Kehaimi pleaded guilty to owning a shotgun and cartridges was waived as he had already spent eight months as a remand prisoner.
