Gp Legend's Widow In Court.

The widow of Bruce McLaren has issued a legal case against his former manager, claiming that Phil Kerr is guilty of misappropriating funds from McLaren's account.

Patricia Brickett maintains that Kerr, who was McLaren's manager up to the time that the new Zealander died in a Goodwood testing accident in 1970, withdrew a total of 429,602 Swiss Francs from an investment account set up to benefit the family. This sum is now reported to have grown to $500,000 with interest.

According to Brickett's lawyer, Kerr and McLaren made a deal which entitled the former to a 15 per cent cut of all monies received by the company - known as Ecurie Top Gear - but claims that the agreement ceased on McLaren's death.

Kerr denies all charges.
