Mansell Praised For Comforting Crash Victim.

Firefighters today praised former world champion Nigel Mansell for his help in comforting a road accident victim while they attempted to free her from her car.


The 1992 titleist was called to the scene by his nephew Lee Mansell who, in turn, had been notified that his girlfriend had been involved. The incident occurred close to Mansell's Woodbury Park Golf and Country Club in Devon, after the Peugeot 205 was rolled onto its side by high winds which swept across Britain throughout the day.

Mansell was praised for the way in which he comforted 26-year old Rebecca Curtis while firefighters extracted her from her car. Despite being retained in hospital for several hours, Miss Curtis was discharged with whiplash and cuts.
