Jaguar May Ditch 'heavy' Green.
The Jaguar team has again stressed that its traditional green paintwork may not appear in Formula One next year.
The former Stewart outfit announced its return to the category with a metallic green display at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, but tests have proved that the chosen paint may be too heavy for the team to be competitive.
"It may sound ridiculous, but the paint could really make a difference to the car's chances of winning races next season," a spokesman told Birmingham's Sunday Mercury newspaper, "The car really does look stunning, but there are worries that the paint chosen for Frankfurt may simply be too heavy.
"Green is still the favoured colour, but it may have to be another shade."
The team's initial argument, that the colour does not show up so well on television, also still holds, and experts are now seeking the best compromise in order to retain a green element to the final paint scheme.
