Green Is Go At Jaguar.
Despite rumours to the contrary, Jaguar looks set to stick with its British Racing Green paintwork when it joins the F1 circus this season.
The team, which takes over from Stewart in 2000, is scheduled to officially launch its new R1 chassis at Lords' cricket ground on Tuesday, and sources suggest that the car will be decked out in a hue similar to that displayed at the team's European motorshow debut last year. This is despite stories claiming that the team would ditch the colour because it was both too heavy to be competitive and inadequate for television coverage.

While the R1 has been pounding around the Spanish venues of Jerez and Barcelona, Jaguar has been testing various shades of green back at base in Britain, looking for the ideal combination of light weight and visual impact, and believes it has hit upon the right formula in time for the launch. Spokesman Cameron Kelleher insists, however, that the test car's paintwork is not necessarily a clue to the final colour.
"We were only testing and the colour the car was painted is not necessarily the one which we will be unveiling on Tuesday," he told the local Sunday Mercury newspaper.
