The team was plagued by breakdowns all weekend and, although Eddie Irvine spun out of the race avoiding Pedro de la Rosa and Johnny Herbert succumbed to clutch failure, it returned to its Milton Keynes base still seeking a cure for its oil system woes. Rumour has it that the part responsible for the problem is one given to Jaguars technical team to develop - in order to make them feel more involved with the F1 project - rather than engine builder Cosworth.
Work has been going on back at the factory to find a solution, and continued whilst the cars were out in Melbourne. Revised parts are now expected to be tried at the two-day Silverstone test this week, where Luciano Burti will drive the R1.
