SEAT TO TAKE MINARDI STAKE?
Minardis move to Spain may have far reaching benefits for the team, if reports today are to be believed.
Should the proposed takeover deal with sponsor Telefonica be realised, Minardi is scheduled to decamp to Barcelona some time in the next twelve months. this would then make it the sole Spanish entry in Formula One, opening the way to other possible opportunities.

Among these is the rumoured involvement of the SEAT marque, which is currently owned by VW-Audi. The company, which has a proud Spanish heritage, is reported to be interested in taking a stake in Minardi should it move to Spain, something which could apparently lead to a supply of Ferrari engines being made available to the perennially under-powered outfit.
SEAT is presently involved in the World Rally Championship with a version of its Cordoba road car.
