Following the confirmation that Jaguar is looking to move out of its existing Milton Keynes base, and bring all of its elements together under one roof, reports suggest that the team may relocate to Silverstone.

Although largely unsubstantiated, the rumours are understood to place the struggling former Stewart team at a new base within a few miles of the Northampton circuit, joining current resident Jordan which is based opposite its main entrance. The move would mean the end of Formula One activity at Stewart House in Milton Keynes, which was built for the second season of Jackie Stewart's brief sojourn in the top flight.

Jaguar is keen to relocate as soon as possible, and wants to bring engine builder Cosworth and several other, Ford-owned, suppliers in under the same roof. This would create a facility and working relationship similar to that enjoyed by Ferrari, with the added bonus of easy access to a grand prix-spec circuit into the bargain. A wind tunnel is also planned for wherever the team ends up, as its current unit is based in California.

Stewart House will be retained to house Stewart's junior formulae teams.
