Ricardo Zonta has supplanted Alex Wurz as favourite for the test driver's job at McLaren-Mercedes, in an ever-changing scenario to replace Olivier Panis.
Wurz was thought to be a strong contender for the role as Ron Dennis has targeted F1 experience as the main requirement for the job but, with Zonta likely to be out of a race drive after losing his seat at BAR to erstwhile McLaren tester Panis, the Brazilian has emerged as the likely choice for the drive.
