Mazzacane to shake down Arrows 'prototype'.

As rumoured, Minardi driver Gaston Mazzacane will test with the Arrows team this week, confirming suggestions that the Argentine may be a part of the Leafield squad in 2001.

Mazzacane will shake down the Arrows A21-AMT 'prototype' at Silverstone tomorrow [Friday 1 December], in preparation for the team's December test programme at Jerez, Valencia and Barcelona. The Argentine visited Arrows' Leafield Technical Centre on Monday for a seat fitting and briefing with Arrows' test team engineers prior to his first run with the outfit.

Regular drivers Jos Verstappen and Pedro de la Rosa will conduct the Jerez and Valencia tests at the start of next month, before Mazzacane takes over in Barcelona between 17-18 December. Arrows remains one of a handful of teams yet to confirm a complete driver line-up for 2001, but the inclusion of both Verstappen and de la Rosa in the test programme suggests that an unchanged squad will be in place next season, with Mazzacane bringing his PSN sponsorship to the role of test and reserve pilot.
