Minardi set for official launch.
Minardi, the Formula One team that is now Australian-owned, is preparing to formally launch its 2001-model car in Melbourne mid-morning Wednesday.
Carrying the initials of Melbourne-born owner Paul Stoddart, the European Minardi F1 PS01 car will be unveiled on the steps of Victoria's Parliament House, in Spring St., Melbourne.
Stoddart saved the Italian team from extinction recently and has overseen its construction of the two cars it will field at this weekend's season-opening Qantas Australian Grand Prix at the Albert Park circuit.
