Hakkinen denies quit rumours.

1998 and 1999 World Champion Mika Hakkinen has denied rumours he is set to quit Formula One at the end of the year. Hakkinen who has had a dreadful start to 2001 said such talk was rubbish.

The Finn told German newspaper Die Welt: "I'm surprised that these rumours keep popping up because there is no backing to them. There is no truth in it. Whenever I or Michael (Schumacher) - or any driver for that matter - suffer a bad race or string of races, then immediately people say that we can't do it anymore. I am still in as good a shape as ever, and am also as determined."
