David Coulthard has insisted that his love life will not affect his racing adding it is important to be happy as this influences how you performance in the car.

The Scot told British tabloid newspaper The Mirror: "It doesn't matter whether you're married, single, bonking everything that is available or being gobby like some of the other guys. As long as you're happy in your head, that's all that matters. Just go for it and get on with your job."

"There are feel-good things you can do in life which are positives. If going out clubbing all night makes you feel good, then go and do it, because if you force yourself to stay in, then you are not going to be as charged."
