Mugello test - day two: 22 August.

Ferrari duo Rubens Barrichello and Luca Badoer were quickest today at Mugello. Sauber-Petronas' Nick Heidfeld was third - best of the rest - followed by the Jordan's, BAR's and the Minardi of Andrea Piccini.

Barrichello completed 67 laps on his way to setting a best time of 1 minute 24.353 seconds. His team-mate - test driver Badoer - was nearly a second slower and then came the third Ferrari powered car - the Sauber of Nick Heidfeld.

Barrichello completed 67 laps on his way to setting a best time of 1 minute 24.353 seconds. His team-mate - test driver Badoer - was nearly a second slower and then came the third Ferrari powered car - the Sauber of Nick Heidfeld.

Jarno Trulli was fourth quickest in the Jordan-Honda and his new team-mate Jean Alesi was sixth a second slower. Jacques Villeneuve was fifth for British American Racing - the 'meat in the Jordan sandwich'.

Then came BAR-Honda test driver Takuma Sato on a 1 minute 27.882 seconds. The British F3 Championship leader was over three seconds off the pace set by Ferrari's Barrichello and nearly two seconds slower than the other BAR driven by 1997 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve.

European-Minardi's Andrea Piccini was the slowest runner a massive five seconds off the pace of the Ferrari of Barrichello. Testing continues tomorrow.
