Jennifer Capriati on track at Fiorano.

Jennifer Capriati, the world's tennis Number 1 paid a visit to Ferrari yesterday. The American tennis star was therefore able to try out her new car, a 360 Modena F1, a gift from Fila (which from 2002 will be an official supplier to Scuderia Ferrari) in recognition of her extraordinary sporting season.

Capriati drove the car round Fiorano, first of all sitting in the passenger seat, alongside the Company's chief test driver, Dario Benuzzi and then at the wheel. Capriati's parents, Stefano and Denise also did a lap of the track in the 360.

"The 360 Modena is my favourite," said Jennifer at the end of her test drive. "I would like it in blue, but I like red as well. It was great to get in a Ferrari. I had done it once before, but not alongside a real driver like today."

Capriati is not sure what interior to go for, which shows what a range of options are on offer from the personalisation choices of Carrozzeria Scaglietti. A true embarrassment of riches! The day ended for the Capriati family with a visit to the factory, both for the Gran Turismo cars and the Gestione Sportiva.
