More Malaysians to follow Yoong into F1?

European-Minardi driver Alex Yoong might not be the only Malaysian driver in F1 in 2002 if Malaysian sports minister Datuk Hishamuddin Hussein gets his way.

In an article published in the New Straits Times he admitted that he also hopes to get Fairuz Fauzy a testing contract for 2002.

He said: "If Fairuz is as good as I hear he is, then maybe he deserves to test with Minardi next year."

"Now that Alex (Yoong) is with the team, I think I should start to help Fairuz pursue his career as well. I think I should try to help Fairuz, and also Saladin next year."
