The Monaco broadcast will complete a day of coverage of the two most prestigious open-wheel races in the world, as the telecast will follow ABC's live coverage of the 86th Indianapolis 500.

"We're pleased that ABC will televise four Formula One races this year, including the SAP United States Grand Prix," said Tony George, Indianapolis Motor Speedway president. "The telecasts will help increase the exposure of F1 in the U.S., which certainly will benefit the SAP United States Grand
Prix. This is another example of ABC's leadership in quality motorsports programming and further establishes ABC as the premier open-wheel racing network in America."

Said ABC Sports President Howard Katz: "We are thrilled to expand our coverage of Formula One racing on ABC Sports. We look forward to bringing Formula One the attention it deserves. Coupled with our IRL coverage, including the Indy 500, ABC is now the home to the world's top open-wheel circuits."

ABC broadcast the SAP United States Grand Prix live last September. "After the success in the ABC broadcast of the USA round of the FIA Formula One World Championship, I am very pleased to have more rounds of the World Championship broadcast on ABC Sports," said Bernie Ecclestone.
