It may be a well-worn clich?, exercised every time the Austrian Grand Prix comes around - but the Hill really will be alive with the sound of music at this weekend's Formula One event.

According to sources, 1996 world champion Damon Hill and his new band will be entertaining the crowds at the A1-Ring on Sunday, having found time to indulge his hobby since quitting the sport three years ago.

According to sources, 1996 world champion Damon Hill and his new band will be entertaining the crowds at the A1-Ring on Sunday, having found time to indulge his hobby since quitting the sport three years ago.

Damon Hill and the Conrods warmed up for their first international gig with a 'shakedown' at biking mecca the Ace Cafe a couple of weeks ago, and earned solid reviews from all who witnessed the show.

"Damon went down really well," cafe owner Mark Wilsmore told MCN, "I think he enjoyed looking at all the bikes and chatting to the people as much as everyone enjoyed his band. I'd book him again..."

Hill plays lead guitar and sings in the band - much as he used to do at Eddie Jordan's post-Silverstone GP shows.
