Rubens Barrichello arrived at the Montreal circuit yesterday afternoon. The Brazilian driver has enjoyed a few days break in Miami and seems relaxed and confident for the race weekend.

"I like this track a lot," said Rubens. "This is where I took my first ever second place on the podium and I also like the atmosphere both at the circuit and in the city."

"The track is very tough on brakes and is particularly slippery, but the conditions improve gradually as more and more rubber goes down on the racing line. This is one of the tracks where we run very little downforce and that doesn't help the brakes either."

The fact he has only picked up twelve points from seven races has done nothing to depress Rubens. "So far, this has been a difficult season for me, but I am not downhearted. This year, I have often shown I have been capable of winning and the twelve points are not an accurate reflection of my potential. I carry on working, knowing I can win and that sooner or later, my time will come."

It has been suggested that the Brazilian's competitiveness so far this year is down to the F2002. "I think that I had also shown well with the F2001, as can be seen from the fact I took pole in Melbourne and had a good race in Sepang, when I could easily have finished second. What has changed is more to do with my approach to the job. I feel much more comfortable in the team where I think I have made my own space. Of course the car has a role to play and I have to say the F2002 is really fantastic."
