As well as eight current Formula One drivers, this year's black tie extravaganza has attracted an eclectic mix of British talent from sporting heroes to soap stars including Manchester United Player Ryan Giggs, champion jockey Richard Dunwoody and former Middleweight World Champion boxer Barry McGuigan.

In addition to F1 personalities, sumptuous cuisine and flowing Mumm Champagne, the Silverstone Ball will also play host to an array of top flight international artists. Acts include newly reformed pop divas Sister Sledge, Steve 'Come up and See Me, Make Me Smile' Harley and Cockney Rebel, Gwen Dickie, formerly of Rose Royce, and chart-topping dance act and former Artful Dodger, Pete Devereux.

Although last month's Monaco Ball charity total of $2 million will be tough to reach, charity will also play an important part at the Silverstone Ball.

Incredible prizes to be auctioned include the once-in-a-lifetime chance to dive over 2 miles to the world's most famous shipwreck, The Titanic, courtesy of Subsea Explorer Ltd.

Auction beneficiaries for the Silverstone Ball include The Princess Royal Trust for Carers and CLIC.
