Irv loves Focus drive with McRae.

Ex-Jaguar F1 driver, Eddie Irvine was given a ride in Colin McRae's Ford Focus RS WRC this week, in the build up to the Network Q Rally of Great Britain, and the Irishman enjoyed it so much he reckons it is better than sex!

Irv, speaking to British tabloid newspaper The Sun said: "I've flown in fighter jets and been bounced around in super-quick powerboats, but nothing compares to the experience of sitting alongside Colin.

"It was truly awesome and in all honesty, I have to confess the experience was better than sex!

"I have never felt so invigorated in my life," continued the 35-year old. "When we first set off I wasn't sure whether I was enjoying it or not because I kept thinking to myself, 'This is madness.' I was just thankful when we stopped."

Irv, who was dropped by 'the Cat' at the beginning of this month, had said that he wanted a "little blast in the Focus" by himself, however having had a go with McRae, he said such a drive would be pointless.

"After witnessing the way Colin handled the car, there was no point in me having a go because I would have been so far off the pace," commented the Brit. "At times the car was completely airborne and at others we were sideways with the speedo touching 100mph. I knew Colin was good but he's certainly gone up in my estimation."

And if you're wondering if he might switch to rallying, the answer is no. "I certainly have no intention of trying to become a professional rally driver," concluded Irvine.
