Paul Ricard test - day two: 22 January.

Renault F1 and Toyota continued testing today [Wednesday] at the Paul Ricard circuit, in the South of France.

Unlike yesterday though when heavy rain and fog limited running, both teams were able to complete a solid amount of laps, Fernando Alonso and Jarno Trulli notching up 83 between them for Renault, while test driver, Ricardo Zonta, managed 53 for the Panasonic supported concern.

Alonso though was again the quickest of the three drivers, his best a 1m 35.186s, and this was despite wet conditions this morning.

Mike Gascoyne, Renault F1's technical director commented: "As the track was still damp from yesterday's rain, we lost some of the morning but we managed to cover a decent mileage with both drivers in the afternoon. Both Jarno and Fernando conducted a tyre programme for Michelin with Fernando running a revised spec engine."

Testing continues tomorrow [Thursday], when Renault will also stage their "on-track" reveal of the 2003 car - the R23 - following its launch in Lucerne, Switzerland, on Monday. Toyota will not be in action.
