Former Reynard right-hand man Rick Gorne has agreed to help Jordan Grand Prix in an advisory capacity with regard to an on-going business negotiation.

The company is in the midst of an important acqusition and team boss Eddie Jordan feels that Gorne's expertise could be the key to seeing it through successfully.

The agreement resurrects a successful 'partnership' between Jordan and Gorne that first flourished in the 1980s when the Irishman's team won two FIA F3000 titles - with Johnny Herbert and Jean Alesi - while running Reynard chassis in what was then a multi-chassis formula.

"Rick and I have been friends since we were racing together in Formula Atlantic in the 1970s," Jordan explained, "We've had great commercial success together before, and he will bring greater depth to Jordan's business acquisition programme as we take the company forward."

Gorne has stated that he will not be abandoning his flourishing driver management business - Goman - and will continue to tend his flock, which recently expanded to include Alex Yoong, in parallel with his Jordan role.
