Schumacher appointed San Marino's ambassador.

Multiple Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher has been officially declared an ambassador of the Republic of San Marino, as the country aims to reinforce its links with Ferrari.

The post was offered to Schumacher as he has always been well informed about solidarity issues, and has taken part in numerous benefit events. He will be involved in humanitarian causes, but the new role is one the German will only have to fulfil on particular occasions, so it will not directly clash with his racing activities.
